HMWPE Cathodic Protection Cable

A stranded copper cable designed to carry DC current to anodes and cathodes, and insulated with a black high molecular weight polyethylene (HMWPE) compound that provides excellent abrasion, crush, chemical, oil, and moisture resistance. This cable—which can be directly buried—is a suitable component in systems providing cathodic protection to pipelines, storage tanks, pilings, well casings, cables, marine craft, and other buried or submerged metallic structures.

• Available in 7 or 19 strand bare or tinned copper
• Available in AWG 1/o through 8 and metric equivalents
• 600–1,000 volts
• Conforms to ASTM B-3 and B-8

HALAR/HMWPE Cathodic Protection Cable

The HALAR/HMWPE cable is intended for use as a deep anode lead wire in environments where chlorine and hydrogen gases occur. It can be directly installed in fresh, brackish, and salt waters. A single stranded, dual insulated cable with exceptional chemical resistance in the presence of chlorine, sulfuric acid, and hydrochloric acid, HALAR/HMWPE cable is composed of an outer insulating layer made from high molecular weight polyethylene and an inner insulating layer made from the fluoropolymer HALAR. This cable exhibits superior dielectric and tensile strength, and can withstand considerable abuse during installation.

EXAR® KYNAR/HMWPE Cathodic Protection Cable

For those aggressive environments where deep-well anode groundbeds and anode installations are usually located, the irradiated KYNAR (PVDF) insulated high molecular weight poly ethylene (HMWPE) sheathed cable is essential.

Due to the proven properties of irradiated KYNAR, including its high dielectric strength, high abrasion and chemical resistance, the EXAR cable is an economic solution for those worst case installations.

XLPE Cathodic Protection Cable and Tubing

A single core, cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) cable suitable for use in a wide range of applications including onshore, offshore, and buried cathodic protection systems. The cross-linking manufacturing process creates three dimensional molecular bond within the plastic, resulting in outstanding low temperature performance, impact and tensile strength, and decreased shrinkage. XLPE insulation has memory characteristics which will return it to its original shape when heat is applied.
